One of the great things that came from having my sister Lani and niece Pomai speak at the recent TEDxMaui conference was watching the talk given by Dr. Brene' Brown. Over the years, much of my writing has been dedicated to my belief in vulnerability as the highest form of consciousness and that our relationships are the true currency of our lives. Dr. Brown brought it all together in her brief talk about vulnerability and connection. She's delivered this talk at countless conventions, TED events and keynotes all over the planet.
In a quick and humorous 20-minutes, she summarizes years of research and writing to give us a very clear snapshot of what's blocking our joy, love, creativity and sense of connectedness to others. Get a cup of coffee or a cold beverage and take a few minutes to watch this video. If you read the comments from this YouTube video shot in Houston (she delivered the same one in Maui), many people considered the information as "life-changing".
I know it was for me.
